As war continues to rage in Ukraine, the demand for FemSMS, a compassionate messaging service, remains high. Messages provide critical resources for women and girls affected by war, gender-based violence, and forced displacement.
For the Voices of Resilience project, two Footage advocates went onto the streets of Ukraine to ask women about their experiences after more than three years of war, its impact on their health and wellbeing and what the compassion and solidarity of women around the world meant to them and their ability to cope.
They asked a series of questions including: “What does compassion mean to you?”, “What does solidarity mean to you?”, “What would you like the world to know about your life in Ukraine?” and, “How does it feel to know that people around the world care about you, about Ukraine, about Ukrainians?”.
All the women asked believed that solidarity meant meaningful support and standing together.

Voices of Resilience: Women of Ukraine. Introduction 1 (EN & UA)
Hello and welcome to our project Voices of Resilience: Women of Ukraine. FemSMS Ukraine and Footage Foundation created the project to bring the voices of Ukrainian women living through the reality of war to the world. Through personal stories, we aim to raise awareness about the challenges these ordinary women face every day while strengthening international solidarity and drawing greater attention to the urgent need for continued support for Ukraine from the global community, especially the United States.
