Founded in 2009 by five women PhD colleagues at the University of Cambridge, Footage is a feminist research and humanitarian organization working at the intersection of gender-based violence, forced displacement, and structural inequalities. Drawing on over 17 years of international experience, Footage combines feminist ethnography, participatory research, human-centered design, and narrative and compassion science to co-create interventions with women and girls in all their diversity, LGBTQIA+ people, and marginalized communities. Our work bridges grassroots knowledge, research, and policy, recognizing lived experience as expertise and translating community voices into evidence, compassionate interventions, and opportunities for transformation.

Footage Lab integrates Footage Foundation (global nonprofit, USA 510(c)(3)), Footage France (France- and EU-based nonprofit hub), and FootageLab+ (our social impact consultancy) to deliver feminist impact across grassroots, national, and international levels.
