Naima M. Hillman

Research, Policy, and Communications Intern

Naima Hillman joined the Footage Team as a Research, Policy and Communications Intern in September 2026. She is currently finishing her MA in Political Science and Sustainable Development at the University of Bern, Switzerland. She learned about Footage while on an exchange semester in France and instantly felt aligned with its values and drawn to the work. She has gained experience doing political lobbying and communications while on the board of her university’s student union as well as the European university alliance ENLIGHT, by advocating for students and elevating their voices within university structures. She was also in charge of a program launched by the student union at the University of Bern that provided access for immigrants and asylum-seekers to lectures and seminars and offered support to participants in navigating day-to-day life on campus. Furthermore, Naima was the national president of the student organization Achtung Liebe Schweiz for two years, which teaches comprehensive sex education at schools all over the German-speaking part of Switzerland and also advocates for feminist and lgbtqia+ issues through workshops and campaigns.

Naima is passionate about fighting for feminist and minority issues and she is excited to have the opportunity to deepen her experiences and knowledge gained during her studies through her internship and to contribute to the important work Footage is doing.
