Zaharah is an undergraduate student studying Psychology and Global Studies at the University of Southern California. During her studies at USC, Zaharah has developed an interest in understanding how adolescents are influenced by family and community violence. As a Research Assistant for the USC Family Studies Project, Zaharah is currently exploring how close relationships affect adolescents and young adults. In addition, Zaharah plans to study abroad and conduct ethnographic research in Amman, Jordan, to investigate women’s roles in Jordanian politics. While interning at Footage, Zaharah hopes to help conduct research and develop projects that empower marginalized communities and inspire conversation about social inequities. In the future, Zaharah plans to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology in order to help adolescents build confidence, a stronger sense of self, and a positive approach towards managing interpersonal relationships.
